Polyurethane dispersion (PUD) footwear adhesives

Product Description: is an anionic aliphatic aqueous polyurethane dispersion designed specifically for heat activated shoe adhesives in cement process to provide excellent performance properties: excellent brushability; outstanding initial heat resistance, and excellent initial tacky property; excellent bonding strength, excellent heat, hydrolysis and yellowing resistance.  Using with our hardener Gaia PUH 161 in a two pack application, the adhesive’s bonding strength, as well as heat and hydrolysis resistance can be greatly increased.  It does NOT contain APEO, tin, or organic amine neutralizers.       

Uses:  in heat activated PUD adhesives for a variety of natural and synthetic materials including soft PVC; especially suitable for formulating adhesives for athletic shoes and other footwear, and particularly suitable for combine use with our hardener Gaia PUH 161 to provide outstanding performance in cement process.  Use precautions:  1). if dilution of the PUD is required, use deionized water, as tap water could cause flocculation or precipitation; 2). after mixing with Gaia PUH 161, the adhesive has to be used within 4 hours, and any unused portion cannot be poured back into the original Gaia PUD 501.

Minimum heat activation temperature:  45-55 ºC

Co-solvent (acetone): < 1%

Stability: stable under recommended storage conditions.  

Storage Condition: store in closed original container in cool (5 to 30^oC) and well ventilation areas away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze the product. Do not leave the product uncovered for extended periods of time. When stored properly, the resin has a shelf life of at least 6 months from the date of manufacture.  If needed, filter the product before use.

Packing:  200 kg in open head metal drums packed inside with 2 liners of HDPE plastic bags.
