Materials for Footwear Adhesive Formulation
Hardeners for footwear adhesives
Gaia-PUH 161
Product Description: is a water reducible, hydrophilically modified aliphatic polyisocyanate designed specifically as hardener for Gaia footwear polyurethane dispersion (PUD) in 2 pack footwear adhesives (shoe adhesives), to provide excellent film properties: high cross-link functionality, excellent water dispersibility, yellowing resistance, and zero VOC (environmentally friendly).
Uses: as hardener to cross link with hydroxy or amno terminated for water based (waterborne) resins or dispersion in 2 pack waterborne coating systems for plastic, wood and metal surfaces. Gaia PUH 161 is exceptionally suitable for use with our Gaia PUD series, especially for water based 2 pack adhesives for shoe manufacturing by the cement or vulcanized process. When combined with our Gaia PUD 501, 502, 503 and 504, the adhesives’ bonding strength, as well as heat and hydrolysis resistance will be greatly increased.
